The Red Eagles were held to a 2-2 draw in Cairo against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in Matchday 3 of the CAF Champions League group stage.
We were 1-0 down at half time after a goal against the run of play from Peter Shalulile after a sensational cross.
In the second half, we had a chance to equalize the score when we were awarded a penalty but Mohamed Hany's penalty kick was saved.
Mohamed Abdelmonem equalized the score with a stunning header that went past the goalkeeper.
After the equalizer, we had a complete dominance over the game and we kept pushing for the second goal.
Our efforts paid off in the 74th minute with a spectacular play from Hussein El Shahat. El Shahat dribbled two players from the South African side before putting the ball in the back of the net to make the score 2-1.
When we thought that we are close from getting the three points of the game, we conceded the second goal from Thapelo Morena.
The game ended in a 2-2 draw and we achieved our first point in the group.
